The Flag of the Republic of Sudan
The Sudanese flag is made up of three horizontal strips with red at the top, white in the middle and black at the bottom. To its extreme left is a green triangle, which is one-third the length of the flag.
The different colours of the flag signify the following:
Red stands for struggle and martyrs; white symbolizes peace and optimism, black denotes the Mahdist Revolution that gave birth to modern Sudan whereas green signifies abundance, welfare and agriculture.
