GOVERNOR OF UAE CENTRAL BANK ADDRESSES SUDAN ECONOMIC AND INVESTMENT FORUM IN ABU-DHABI Abu Dhabi, May 19 (SUNA) - Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sultan bin Nasir Al-Suwaidi, has appreciated the level of cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Sudan in the banking system. This came in his speech Monday at the Workshop on the Banking System, which was held on the second day of Sudan Economic and Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi. He said that the UAE Central Bank will boost the investment in Sudan. Al-Suwaidi expressed his appreciation of the Sudanese products shown at the Production Exhibition, which he toured in the company of the State Minister for Finance, Dr. Hassan Ahmed Taha and the Director of the Investment Bank, Omer Mahjoub. The workshop was also addressed by Deputy Governor of the Bank of Sudan, Dr. Abdul-Moniem Al-Qousi, who affirmed the prevalence of a favourable clImate for investment in Sudan, referring to the stability of the exchange rate, decrease of the inflation rate, restructuring of the Sudanese banks and utilization of technology at the banking system. Meanwhile, the workshop was addressed by Chairman of Banks' Union and Director of the Animal Resources Bank, Hatim Al-Zubair. The workshop was attended by a big number of officials and businessmen of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), besides members of Sudan delegation which is headed by the Ministers of Finance and Investment and members of the Sudanese community. Sudan Economic and Investment Forum will last till Wednesday. MO/MO
