Khartoum State is one of Sudan's twenty-six states and is situated at the centre where, Khartoum, the federal capital, is located.

. The total area of the state is 22,000 square kilometers.
. Its population is about five million inhabitants.
. The annual average rainfall is 150mm from July 15th To October 15th.
. The White Nile, the Blue Nile and underground water constitutes the main water sources.
. The fertile cultivable land is extended along the White Nile, the Blue Nile and the River Nile banks.
. The Khartoum State is also home to huge animal wealth.
. Rich sites for mineral resources are on the northern and southern parts of the state.
. Services and infrastructure are also available-
. The Khartoum State is the main commercial centre in Sudan.

General Guidelines:
To obtain a licence for a project covered by the Encouragement of Investment Act, investors are requested to note the following procedures:

. Submit a written application to the Director General, General Administration for Investment, with the feasibility study of the project and the certificate or contract establishing the company (in the case of companies).
. Fill in the "Project Form",
. Obtain the initial approval for the project.
. Register a Trade Name or Trade Mark for the project.
. Obtain a License for the project.

Procedures to Enjoy Customs Privileges:
To enjoy customs privileges outlined in the Encouragement of Investment Act, investors are requested to submit a full list of the imported component of the project (list of imported items must be included in the project license).

The list of imported items is to be submitted to ihe Director General, General Administration for investment, along with other necessary documents.

Investment opportunities in the field of economic services in the Stale of Khartoum appears as a natural outcome of the progress achieved in areas of industry and agriculture. This was made possible in light of the increasing population in the state and the rising demand for necessary services.
